Privacy Policy

Hyre not Fyre (hyrenotfyre.com) is a community for music festival and event workers, businesses and attendees to find gigs, post jobs, connect, and build a reputation. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Hyre not Fyre you agree to this policy.

Account information. When you sign up or sign in with Google or with an email and password, we receive your name, email address and, for Google sign-in, your basic Google profile details (such as your profile photo).

Profile information you add. Depending on the profile type you choose (worker, business or attendee), this can include a handle, photos, headline, bio, location (state and county), skills, certifications, work experience, availability, years of experience, phone number, social media links, a resume you upload, and business details such as company name, type, size, description and website.

Content you create. Posts, comments, messages, group posts, job posts, events, for-hyre posts, Shakedown Street marketplace listings, vouches, job reviews, and reports you file about other members.

Activity and account data. Festivals you mark attendance for, friend and group activity, points and referral activity, and your notification and AI feature preferences.

Identity verification (optional). If you choose to get a Verified badge, the check is performed by Stripe Identity. We receive only the result (verified or not) and a reference ID for the verification session. We do not store your ID images.

Payments. Payments for subscriptions and job posts are processed by Stripe. We receive your subscription status and a Stripe customer ID. We do not receive or store your full card number.

• To create and run your account, and to show your profile, posts and listings to other members.
• To match members with jobs and events, and to power search and the member directory.
• To send notifications you would expect, such as messages, friend and group requests, vouch requests, job matches, and daily or weekly digests.
• To provide optional AI features (such as the Festival Coach, AI-generated digest posts and automated job-match emails). You can turn these off in your profile at any time.
• To process payments, manage subscriptions and apply referral or promotional rewards.
• To keep the community safe: enforcing our group rules, reviewing reports, and preventing spam, fraud and abuse.
• To match the Facebook link you add to your profile with our Facebook group, for example to welcome you, apply a group badge, or enforce group bans.
• To maintain, secure and improve the service.

We do not sell your personal information.

If you sign in with Google, we use the name, email address and profile photo Google shares with us only to create your account, sign you in, and show your profile inside Hyre not Fyre. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell or transfer it to others except as needed to run the service. Our use of information received from Google will follow the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Members can see the profile information and content you choose to add or post, such as your name or handle, photos, bio, skills, location, work history and posts. Businesses can see details relevant to hiring, such as a resume you upload. Add only what you are comfortable sharing with other members. Your reports about other members are reviewed by administrators and are not shown to the person reported.

We share information only as needed to run the service:

• Hosting, authentication, database and email delivery providers that run the app on our behalf (including Base44).
• Stripe, for payments and optional identity verification.
• Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
• Our companion mobile app and its service provider. To keep the mobile app in sync, basic account details (such as your name, email, handle, photos, points and AI preference) are sent to it when your profile is created or updated.
• Other members and businesses, as described above, based on what you choose to post or add to your profile.
• Authorities or other parties when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of members and the service.

• Edit or remove your profile information at any time from the Profile page.
• Turn AI features (Festival Coach, AI digest posts, automated job-match emails) on or off in your profile.
• Delete your account from Profile, in the Danger Zone section. This permanently deletes your profile, posts, listings, messages and group memberships.
• Ask us to access, correct or delete your information by contacting us below.

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete the data described above, except where we must keep certain records for legal, tax, fraud-prevention or safety reasons. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Hyre not Fyre is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and for significant changes we will give notice in the app or by email.
